Biography

Evaldas Pabrėža is a technology leader and photonics engineer working at the intersection of advanced laser systems, quantum, electronics, and industrial deep technology. With experience translating demanding optical and electronic engineering challenges into practical products, he brings a grounded perspective on the forces reshaping Europe’s technology landscape.

In this keynote, Evaldas looks beyond today’s waves of semiconductors, defence and artificial intelligence toward the emerging post-quantum era. He will explore how quantum-enabled technologies may create new capabilities in computing, sensing, communications, security, and advanced manufacturing – while also exposing new technical, economic, and societal risks. The session asks a practical question: how can industry build the capabilities to benefit from this transition without becoming dependent on technologies, supply chains, or systems it cannot control?
